Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions about Volbella

When can I resume normal activities after my treatment?

No exercise, major manipulation of facial expressions, or makeup during the day of treatment is highly recommended. After 24 hours, you should be able to resume your normal activities.

How long is the Volbella treatment?

The average treatment with any of these products takes about 60 minutes. However, this may vary depending on the amount or type of correction you are seeking. Results can be seen immediately following treatment.

Can I combine Volbella and Botox treatments?

Botox treatment, or any other neurotoxin treatment, can be combined with injectable fillers at the same appointment. Using both products helps most clients achieve their ideal result and may provide longer-lasting results.

Are there any side effects with Volbella products?

Side effects are moderate and generally last 2 to 4 weeks. Common side effects include temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching. For more information, please visit

How long does Volbella last?

Volbella results typically last between 1 year to 18 months, which is why Volbella is known as the longest-lasting lip filler on the market. In general, most patients return for maintenance before the product completely disappears to optimize the overall contour, shape, and look.

Is Volbella a permanent product?

Volbella is the longest-lasting lip augmentation filler. However, it is not permanent. As we speak, eat, kiss, and move our mouth, our body will break down the Volbella and begin to metabolize it over time. Therefore, the effects of Volbella will need to be maintained every year.

When should I plan the treatment for ideal results?

It is recommended that you receive treatment 2-4 weeks before you want/need the results for a specific event on your calendar.

Will I bruise post treatment?

You can reduce risks of bruising and swelling if Tylenol or Ibuprofen is stopped 72 hours prior to treatment. Bruising may vary and can last 3-10 days.
